I've been using Firebird for the last 2 months or so. It's been very stable for me. The only problem is some sites (sloopy code?) still need IE to be viewed properly. Why the switch? I grew tired of security updates for IE.

Firebird Rocks dude, and I love it, been using it for a while now and moved to it as my default browser not too long ago. It's making great progress and you get all the features that hit the main Mozzie trunk so you aren't really losing anything, only gaining. -- As a side note you should look into a few decent extensions to enhance your bird, but I'm sure you already know that.

Scared of showing your face lest Sol see you and try and nail you down???

There are some things about firebird that just don't seem to be workign. I can't quite get the toolbars under control. They are just not doing what I want them to do and seem to reset themselves just when I think I have it right.

It's a bit weird, but I have no time to look at it. Also it seems to load Java up when it starts (it puts an icon in my system tray), which takes a fair few annoying seconds. Since there is no quicklaunch, startup is'nt as fast as Mozilla.

I tried it a while back - seems ok, but I think I'll wait for it to mature a little.

Nah you guys already know who I am, so I'm just letting you know that I'm a fanatic. Anyway your problems with Java loading up is uncharacteristic. Doesn't do that on mine. What version of Java are you using?

And yeh the toolbars need some work, I think they have toolbar work slotted for 0.9, at least that's what I got from talking with some of the devs the other day.

Gotta remember it's still a development release. And if you really want to see full potential try grabbing a Processor optimized release, makes a huge diff.

Java 1.4.2_01-b06

when I start Firebird I get the java icon in my sys tray, and when it closes the icon goes away. I installed Java before Firebird, and didn't do anything to get it going.

Also in this comment window I don't get a right-click, is that normal. VERY annoying!

Send some of your dev friends this way ;)

Aaron, no it's not normal. I am able to right-click on both links and the page itself.
