Just got an email from these guys telling me that a survey that I took part in was complete. The results are pretty astonishing.
This Washington Times article summerizes the results of the survey nicely.
Read on for more highlights, everything seems to confirm what I always thought, which in a nutshell is “I turned out pretty normal”

So it’s my little sisters birthday! Turning 22 today! Happy Birthday, I hope that you have a great day and a wonderful new year!
So I brought my computer over to the shop. He opened it up, plugged it in, and it came right up. I was telling him that it was either the mobo or the power supply unit, but he told me that they looked fine.
I didn’t have a 80 pin IDE cable, so I got one of those off him, he also told me to put my hard drives on seperate channels… He said “Don’t pay, go home and play”…
I guess I’ll start playing now.
He remembers her as the neighbor girl on the swing. He used to babysit her. Now he’s a cop, and she faces a 10-year prison term for prostitution. Can he help her?
Touching story about a cop who wants to help the ‘Girl next door’. Well written.
So I spent the majority of the morning looking for an upgrade for my Motherboard. I’m quite sure that my Mobo is gone, so I will have to get a new one. If I’m getting a new mobo, I figure I might as well get one that has a good upgrade path (8xAGP/USB2/FSB800), and since a lot of my friends have not liked AMD’s faster (I have been very happy with my Duron 1gig) offerings, I thought I’d switch to Intel. Oh, and that means I’ll have to get some DDR ram instead of my SDRAM. And I’ll need to get a new case with at least a 300watt powersupply.
Anyway, to make a long story short, even at the best places here in England, the above costed well over 300 pounds ($500). And that is to upgrade a computer that I was pretty happy with. Anyway, I worked the phones a bit and got some good advice, a friend of a friend has a computer shop, and I’ll bring it in tomorrow and see if we can patch my old one up. It’s a perfectly fine computer, and I’ll save the big upgrade for another occasion.
We’ll see how that works out.
I guess the question is how fast do you talk? Or how fast I talk… unfortunatly the answer for me is TOO FAST!!! The answer I get to most questions is “Huh?”.
As a “born and raised” member of The Family, I’ve been invited to talk at the INFORM Winter Seminar the topic is “Education and Socialization within Religeous Movements”, I have a 15 minute slot, and I’m already on my 5th page of notes. Sol, you speak for a living, how many pages of notes do you take??? Anyway, I have a couple of weeks to think about it and whittle it down to size. I usually end up doing this kind of stuff at the last minute… I wonder if there is a connection between adrenaline and creativity… or maybe if falls under the “necessity is the mother of invention” category.
Will keep you posted.
I wish I had the time to do stuff like this. Very cool! I’ve always liked building things out of lego. Actually, his whole site is great, but the Escheresque ones are the best.
If you’re interested in lego (who isn’t) then his Lego Home Page should take up a good amount of your Sunday afternoon. Don’t miss the links at the bottom.
Here is the link, go and vote for your favorite Open Source project. You can only vote for 3 so I voted for Gaim, GIMP and Zope. Gaim and GIMP because I use them every day, and Zope, because it’s a terrific product!
So I just ducked out to get some doughnuts and Cider from the supermarket across the road, I got what I wanted and when I got to the till, the cashier asked “do you have ID?” and I was like “for what?” and he pointed to the cider. I had a hard time believing that someone thought I was under 18. I had my credit card (which you can’t get until you’re 18), but nothing else. He called his supervisor who ran off to do God knows what…
It took about 5 minutes before she got back, the guy behind me said it was because I was buying “what kids buy, get an old man’s drink and they won’t hassle you”. The guy behind him wanted to know what face cream I used.
Anyway, after another round of scrutiny they checked my cider though… and let me carry on with my day. Pretty funny though. Last time that happened I was playing a pinball machine in Germany and I got checked, because they had poker machines in there… I was 18 at the time so it was normal.
Haven’t tried doing the RSS thingy now, but I just came upon this link, and since my personal computer is under the knife, I’ll just put it here, for me to come to later and check out.
I assume most people do RSS, so if anyone has any tips…

Amazing $20 Bill 9/11 Coincidence
Great conspiracy theory here!
We haven’t seen any $20 bills here yet, but will be sure to check this out when I see one. I assume you’ve all seen the mushroom right???
Because of the data loss related to my recent computer troubles, I don’t have the information needed to update ravi’s blog so I’m posting it here.
It seems that they are enjoying themselves. They apparantly watched “Steal” but I can’t find that on imdb, probably some Indian movie :). Of all the things for me to comment on…

So I have a couple hundred bucks sitting in a paypal account, had a USD payment a while back, and just let it sit there “for a rainy day”, making our dear friends at paypal rich.
I just went to my account to check on something else and noticed the amount of Euros my US dollars were worth. I had lost $50.
Amazing how strong the Euro is these days.
