Outlook Express 6sp1 Blocks Attachments

Ohhhhh, now with IE 6 SP1 by default OE blocks any attachment that could carry a virus, like .pgp and .txt files. 2 minutes of clickety clicking fixed it. It’s under options/security.

Maybe that’s what they meant when they said that they were focusing on security. Lets just make our software more difficult to use!

Woohoo!

  • To fix this, go into outlook express, click on “Tools”, “Options”, Click on the “Security” tab, and uncheck where it says “Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus.”

Why waste time on such a stupid advice?
The box next to “Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus”. is grayed out (can’t be unchecked).

    What is the solution?
