Day 2 — Daddy 1, Mia 0

Round one is over! Mia was the bestest little girl EVER, woke up twice during the night, whined for a few minutes, but then took a sip of some water and went back to sleep.

Finally she woke up and, I was sure it was around 3, but when I looked at the clock it was 6. Anyway, she cried for about an hour there, she wasn’t really awake, so I wanted to try and get her to go back to sleep, she did nod off for a bit while I was walking around with her, but as soon as I tried to get back in bed she would wake up again and continue with the whining.

She’s fine now, ate a hearty breakfast, and is indulging in the Teletubbies as we speak!

You deserve a metal for your bravery. We still haven’t dared approach the subject with my 24 month old. He’s also gone through the occational night time nursing bing where I start to wonder if I will ever get another wink of sleep.

Hugs to Mia for being such a trooper.

I may need you to give Nat some weaning tips soon. :-)

My only advice is DON’T LET MOM GET INVOLVED. Best to pack her away somewhere where she won’t be tempted to “come to the rescue”.

Send Mom away and take a long weekend with your kid, they will appreciate the Daddy attention, and as long as Mom is out of their thoughts, it shouldn’t be too bad.

Our girls have been VERY easy, but I heard stories of kids who are more difficult. Anyway, easy or difficult, usually they get over it in a few days. Just have loads of water around, and whatever you do DON’T get them on to a bottle. That’s the second worse thing you can do… or possibly even the absolute worst thing.

As soon as the kid is weaned they will start sleeping all through the nights, at least Annie did! Joy of Joy!

Good tips. I think I will be the one having a harder time with it LOL. Such a sucker.
