There's actually nothing that bad about it except that it's so generic. As a way of displaying data it does help to divide things up. The trick is doing it artistically and in a way that your data isn't all cluttered which is typical of the aforementioned content systems. My main goal was to organize it so that it would be both user and Google friendly. I want to spruce up the individual archive pages, so that there are other links there as well, as from if you come in from google that's all you'll see.
