Ananova – Top doc backs picking your nose and eating it

It’s not April 1st yet. I don’t know if someone can seriously write an article like this… of course it could be true.

If anyone finds that it helps, please let us know :)

Docbook on Windows Tutorial

The Code Project – Documention with DocBook on Win32 – WinHelp/HTMLHelp

This is the best tutorial that I’ve seen so far. You don’t want to know how long I fiddled with docbook trying to make it work.

I’m still downloading, but it seems like it should go pretty simply. The tutorial covers everything. Worth a look.

Gimp 2 is REALLY out!

GIMP – The GNU Image Manipulation Program

So we have a final release of GIMP 2. The problem is that they tout it as being stable in windows as well, but they don’t have a decent stable version up. All you find is the several month old development build that still doesn’t work quite right.

They do have some nice screenshots.

Goofy Pacifiers — Must READ

De Digitale Revolutie

This is REALLY funny! If Mia still used a pacifier I would get her one of these (I’m sure Stella would really appreciate it).

A bit pricy, but worth it!

Sheikh Ahmed Yassin Asassinated

The Agonist: Sheikh Ahmed Yassin Killed

Big news, Palistinian PM says “This is a crazy and very dangerous act. It opens the door wide to chaos.” And I have to agree, it will create a harsh backlash.

These people have already proven that they can get around the IDF and whatever security measures that they put in place whenever they want to. So killing their spiritual leader isn’t going to do anything but solicit revenge.

Passion of the Christ

Just started watching heaven and earth and it seems like it’s become a national past-time to winge about how squeamish you are on National TV.

TV Presenter: What did you think of The Passion
Guest 1: It was awful, I couldn’t bear it, I have never been so sick in my life. I kept my eyes closed the whole time. The music was loud.
Guest 2: I agree, I was cowering with my jacket pulled up over my head. I have never seen anything like it.

A little tip… if you are watching a movie with subtitles, it really does help to keep your eyes open. You can’t say “I closed my eyes” and “this movie doesn’t have a story line” in the same interview. And what’s with the “I’m squeamish and proud of it” attitude? Nobody boasts about how squeamish they are when it comes to movies like Kill Bill.

In the interview one of the guests said “all you hear for 2 hours and 9 minutes is skin being beaten and bones crunching”. I’m quite sure that you don’t hear bones crunching, as it is VERY clear that “None of his bones are broken”.

The other thing that isn’t exactly factual, it that apparantly the Jewish pharasees are speaking Aramaic, this was not the case. They did not speak Aramaic but Hebrew, anyway, it would have gotten way too confusing if Mel decided to throw in Hebrew in there as well.

I will go and watch it when it comes out, and will be blogging about it again.

Congresspersons favorite jokes!

The Senator Prank: Joke Letters Sent To The U.S. Government

Good stuff here. Someone poses as a 10-year-old kid and writes to 100 congresspersons asking them what thier favorite joke is.

Had me chuckling.
