In this blog entry Davey counts the ads on devshed. The paged weighed in at 16 ads per page. That’s a heck of a lot of ads.

With all those ads, though, I doubt they make very much more then they would through a well placed ad campaign, or through direct sponsorship. It’s clear that the objective of the site has gone from being a community based site, to a site which is focused on using it’s content and “standing” in the community to raise thier ad revenue.

I haven’t seen any numbers, but they are certainly not getting more readers through their ads, and I would bet they are not making a whole lot of money either.
