Thanks to the tip from chregu, firefox now opens new links from external programs in new tabs… the option is right there in:
Options-> Advanced -> tabbed browsing
Click “Open Links from other applications” in “a new tab in the most recent window”.
Couldn’t be much simpler, don’t know why I didn’t find that […]
