Thanks for the comment marcus, I use full screen mode in windows ALL the time.

I use the Unix Services for Windows and that makes cmd.exe a bit more usable, and of course allows you to run bash natively with rocks.

i used mac for about 2 years. i tried to like it. i definitely appreciated the unix based since i code almost exclusively for *NIX servers. but in the end i'm using *nix and Windows exclusively and just consider mac a blip on the radar.

1. they think they are the greatest interface, but they can't for crying out loud get the command line right

2. they really really really don't want u to have a full screen mode without their crap cluttering up the screen

3. the holy fatherhood of steve jobs is a perfect example of how effing stupid the designer elite are. those supposedly unique dudes are a bunch of "me-toos". think punks who all know how to be different in exactly the same way. friggin annoying.

anyways, windows works, altho the cmd.exe is trash, at least powershell is a step and workable. and *nix is the shit. i'm not one of the huge Ubuntu fanboys. mainly cuz they are so into their python thing. not that that's bad, it's just not my thing. but i have to admit, their upgrade system is the best i've ever seen. (Note all the designer dudes who happen to be leaving Apple are all "being different" in exactly the same way again, this time with Ubuntu. Heh.

Solaris x86 is also really getting me interested again. I've run it off and on basically since the first release, but now that it's open source, it's quite viable on the desktop provided your hardware is supported.

main reason i run windows on my desktop/laptop is my love affair with photoshop. really that's what it comes down to. GIMP doesn't cut it for me. I've tried plenty.
