Feed readers and 301 redirects

I am moving my news feed off our our terribly horrible 6 year old custom solution onto wordpress. Everything is working fine all I need to do is update the RSS feeds.

I did a bit of research and tested my 301 redirect on google reader, and it seems like it feed readers have no problem with the redirects.

Is there anything I’m missing?

Spent the evening Virus Hunting

The first virus was your standard fake Anti-Virus trojan horse. Easily defeated with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and several reboots.

Quite by accident while I was checking to make sure that Firefox was updated and I noticed a weird thing with google ads within the pages. There was another virus that AntiVir and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware didn’t pick up.

What I was looking at was basically a google hijacker.

It was surprisingly difficult to figure out exactly what was going on. I had a pretty nice rootkit on my hands. As everyone knows, where there are rootkits, there is Combofix (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix note: combofix.org is a fake site).

I obviously did a hijackthis and a couple other scans and I’m pretty sure that the computer is clean. For now.

Enabled PubSubHubbub on my Work Blog

Now I need to figure out exactly what it does. It looks interesting, and if Dave Winer likes it, then it must not be that evil!
