Don’t Take My Shadow

Annie is getting into a really selfish stage. She meets Leila, one of her friends this morning and says: “Annie’s shadow. Don’t take Annie’s shadow Yeiya”. I have no idea where it came from but it was cute none the less.

On the kid front, we’re seriously thinking about weaning Mia. She’s starting to keep us up for long streches during the night. VERY clingy and always wanting to nurse. She’s going to be a year old in 2 weeks, and she is chubby enough, not to really need to nurse.

She was up all night one night and I decided that whenever I am frazzled I should make up a joke before getting upset. So here’s my screaming baby at 4 am joke.

What’s worse then a screaming baby? A screaming baby with bad breath… It doesn’t sound that funny in writing. Oh well, you sort of have to have had the experience to appreciate the humor ;)

“No, No, Annie watch beautiful colors”

So I come into the room and find 2-year-old Annie sitting at my computer apparantly patiently waiting for something to happen. Thinking that she wanted to watch a cartoon or something, I flipped off the screensaver and asked her what she wanted to do.

She looked at me and said “No, no, Annie watch beautiful colors”. It took me a couple seconds to realize that she was just enjoying the wonderful solar winds screensaver.

It’s great when you can put hyperlinks into your “cute-kid” posts, isn’t it ;)

Talking with Annie

I miss Annie (My 2-year-old)… fired up an old webcam and gave her a call, and she jabbered away for about 5 minutes. Couldn’t understand a third of what she was saying and had to get a running translation from Mom, but was really nice talking.

Usually, she won’t talk into the phone, just listens quietly, and then says bye at the end of the “conversation”, anyway, I guess the cam stimulated her usual talkativness.

My bodyclock is still set to wake up at 5am… very strange… must get over that.
