i had a dream last night

Posted by mobile phone:
Where I was on a bus and Chuck Norris got on and sat in a back seat. Everyone on the bus clapped for a few seconds and then ignored him.

I wonder if there is any symbolism to be gathered. Maybe I’m going to kick ass today. In the dream I noticed that his beard was a little unkept and longer than usual.

Does this symbolize that my asskicking days are over and I am now destined to sit in the back of the technology bus enjoying the momentary applause for the select few who remembered me “back in the day”?

All this introspection caused me to walk into a lamp post. I uploaded sanibel pictures on flickr this morning.

Peace out.

back from paradise

Posted by mobile phone:
We got home at 10pm last night from a two-night trip to Sanibel island.

Sanibel is on the gulf of mexico and the small resort (Caribe) we stayed at had a beautiful beachj where we watched the sun rise and set (pictures coming soon).

During the day we biked through the largly untouched nature preserves and chased dolphins with our kayak.

The experience was beyond belief and we can’t wait to get bach.

a good night out bowling

Posted by mobile phone:
First game: 151
Second game: 179
Third game: 171

That might not be the greatest news for regular bowlers, but add a 102 handicap on top of that and you’ll see why I’m bragging.

I also won $40 :)

weekend update

Posted by mobile phone:
Had the longest weekend ever and managed to stay computerless the whoe time.

Felling fully energized as I walk to work this morning. The downside is that my work email box filled up and 2 days of messages bounced. Oops. Serves me right for changing an email settin right before heading home on friday (long story, basically I tried to move a rather large IMAP folder and thunderbird screwed up and made multiple copies of the folder).

At rthe office will try to catch up on stuff

sweet dreams and random musings

Posted by mobile phone:
Just heard marilyn mansons rendition of sweet dreams. Very well done.

I am slightly distracted as I walk to work today. When you start managing a team of developers it seems that short weeks turn into a bad thing instead of something that is looked forward to.

This week we are fitting in a weeks worth of development into 3 days. FUN :)

On the flip side, I won $25 in blind doubles bowling last night. This thing might turn into a career aftert all.

Everywhere I go smells like paint. Is it written somewhere that everyone has to paint their house this week?

planetarium == nap time

Posted by mobile phone:
I love the South Florida Science museum. Not only do they have a ton of geeky and amusing exhibits, but they provide comfortable seats and a napping area in the planetarium :)

Got up at 5 this morning to show Davey off, had a couple of cups of tea and finished reading “A World Without End” which was a fantastic read. After spending the day running around, by the time the 2pm panetarium showing started I was very ready for a nice 45 minute nap :)

freedom is overrated

Posted by mobile phone:
Reading the palm beach post (yes I’ve started reading a dead tree paper) I can’t help but notice that over the last few weeks palm beach has become a landing spot for several different groups of people.

Haitians who come here to take advantage of our economy and Cubans who are fleeing from oppression and welcomed by weeping relatives.

We have two identical stories of two groups of people who are probably fleeing similar hardships and just becaude of the point of origin the are glorified or villified by the press.

morality vs. capitalism

Posted by mobile phone:
Thinking about the yahoo vs china vs us senator situation. The more I try to figure out what would have been the “right” thing to do the more convinced I am that anarchy is the only morally acceptabe political stance.

Catch me at roxys and we’ll discuss this in depth over a couple beers.

I just arrived at work. :)

waling to work chronicles

Posted by mobile phone:
Dear readers,
I write this to you as I travel down the elevator on the first leg of my 6.5 minute daily walk to work. As all of my regular readers know this blog has fallen into a sad state of disrepair over the last few months.

Now it seems like this short walk is the only time that I have to think for myself before each workday sets in.

I hope by using this time to blog I’ll be able to get some fresh content up on my site.

Maybe I’ll also start a linkblog, since I come in contact with a ton of links every day.

drenched in coffee

Posted by mobile phone:
I am on my way to work when I get the feeling that my bag is warmer than usual. After a quick investigation I discover that the entire contents of my bag have been soaked in coffee. I guess that new coffee cup I got from costco wasn’t water tight after all.

Thankfully nothing was permanently damaged. My blackberry got its first coffee baptism and seems to be doing fine (8700 is indistructable).

So I onlt lost 10 minutes and am now bagless and coffeelessly on m$y way to work.

Rained out

Posted by mobile phone:
At 2pm the thunder started. We has just done the “sandstorm” and were getting ready to do the “Congo River Rapids” when it started to rain and they shut everything down.

We took refuge in the theater and then made a run for the cinema where they are doing the 4-D pirate experiance.

They let everyone in, but still aren’t going to start the show for another 40 minutes.

So we wait. I guess its better than being in the rain.

we made it

Posted by mobile phone:
232 miles in 3 hours and 40 minutes. I guess an average of 50mph isn’t that bad considering city traffic and 3 pit stops.

It rained as soon as we got out of the car, the tram is coming to a stop and it is sunny.

Stopping the blogging for the day.
