The first version of this post was eaten when Y! Pipes decided to take down firefox (seemed to happen a lot when I was hovering over the sources waiting for the tooltip top pop up - FF1.5.0.9)
Y! Pipes is a cool toy. There is a lot of interesting functionality, but a lot that could […]
In the footsteps of a couple good friends I’ve decided to make the first blog entry of the new year yet another year in review round-up for the year 2006.
It’s hard to believe that we’re already done with 2006, this one went by fast. A lot happened, and due to the overflow of work, I […]
Hiro Nakamura from heroes is actually a code warrior in real life. His profile can be found at this great wired article.
“I’ve been programming computers since elementary school, where they taught us, and I stuck with computer science through high school and college,” said Oka. “ILM offered me an entry-level position at its Marin, California, […]
Finally I got around to posting some of my old pictures from IPC2k4. A lot of the regulars, some faces who we haven’t seen in a while. Enjoy.

Read full post...At ZendCon I talked about “Planning a PHP 4 to PHP 5 codebase rewrite, a practical approach”. The talk was based on my own experience, as well as famous discussion of the topic such as Joel Spolsky’s “Things you should never do” and the examination of “famous” platform rewrites.
During my monday morning surf, I bumped […]
Just a quick note to let my planetary friends that I’ve created a page that is tracking all information about my Zend Framework Hidden Gems series of articles.
More information on my Zend Framework Hidden Gems page.
I’m not going to waste blog space reiterating what is covered in the link above, but just wanted to mention […]
My ZendCon and PHP Conference slides are up.

I enjoyed these two conferences a lot, and wrote up a not-so-technical review of ZendConference2006 on my “corporate” Hedge Fund Website Creation blog. A writeup of the PHP Conference is coming up.
I just noticed that PHP Programming with PEAR has hit the bookshelves, and is available for order.
This is a collaboration between Stoyan Stefanov, Stephan Schmidt, Carsten Lucke and me. The original book was conceived way back at IPC2k4 so it’s been in the pipeline for a while now. The book covers different aspects of programming […]
