Americanized

Just to keep any of you who are subscribed to my podcast feed around, here’s a nice little tune from Atomsplit.

Americanized

D Sazster is also doing a podcast called Project 52, where he releases a song a week. Like what johnathan Coulton is doing over at his thing-a-week podcast.

Sounds of Norway

My recording of music with which the recent eZconference opened, was requested by several people. I just found my USB cable and was able to get download the files and process them.

Sounds of Norway - Image by Sebastian Bergmann

This was recorded with my iRiver H340 into raw WAV files thanks to the rockbox firmware. The microphone was the standard (noisy) compressor mic that comes with the iRiver. I amplified the volume using Audacity, but other than that no other effects or cleaning up work has been done. If anyone wants the 45mb wav file let me know.

I also don’t know the artists name, so if one of the organizers would comment here, then I’ll add it to the id3 tags of the mp3 file.

Enjoy.

Voices United For America. The Star Spangled Banner

We created this multi-lingual version of the Star-Spangled Banner to raise awareness of Senate Resolution 458 and House Resolution 793, which state that English is the only language in which our National Anthem should be sung or recited. This resolution was unanimously passed by the Senate and is currently before the House Judiciary Committee.

We find the proposed resolutions inconsistent with a fundamental American right, free speech. It can also be seen as depreciating the rich and diverse cultural heritage of immigrants, the ancestors of many Americans, who founded, developed, and defended this nation. The resolutions fail to recognize that one of the country’s greatest strengths is the diversity of the populace.

Sound Seeing in Stansted

This audio blog post is my first soundseeing tour. Starting when I get off the Ryanair flight from Frankfurt, Germany to Stansted, London.

I’ve done a bit of editing to get rid of the 20 minutes or so that I spent standing in line. My iRiver also doesn’t seem to perform very well while in trains or cars, so I had to cut out a couple seconds of the shuttle ride.

Apologies for the broken sentances, several times I started saying something, then had to stop to avoid drawing undue attention to myself. While an “on-air” cavity search may have made for interesting listening, I was in a bit of a hurry to get to where I was going.

I talk about the “The IT Crowd” show from Channel 4, I’ve watched the first 2 episodes and they are just FANTASTIC. Very funny and full of geeky stuff.

Save Stanley “Tookie” Williams

Stanley “Tookie” Williams‘ execution date is set for December the 13th. Visit Tookie.com for more information on what you can do to save Tookie.

“Why” written and performed by my good friend Andrew Peterson, audio clips taken from Breakdown FM’s coverage of the Save Tookie Rally. Listen to the full show here.

Sounds of International PHP Conference Day 1

First day of this years IPC has ended… unlike previous years, where I tried to cover as many sessions as possible with blog posts, this year I’ll be using my trusty Zaurus SL5500 to capture some of the sounds of the conferences.

In this first episode, we start around the lunch table with Lukas Smith, Jeremy Johnstone, Stefan Neufeind, Arne Blankerts discussing Error handling in PHP (Exceptions vs. PEAR::Error). The conversation quickly moves on to current trends in the Tech Industry, especially in regards to Yahoo!, MSN and Google rivalry, collaboration between platforms, and privacy concerns.

We catch up with Kore Nordmann who talks about his work on PEAR::Image_3d

Like always, you can subscribe to my podcast using YME at podcast.yahoo.com or directly inputting my feed into your podcatcher… I don’t do iTunes ;) A vote or comment at Podcastalley won’t hurt you either.

Music is “Break the Code” by Madsumo, courtesy of the Podsafe Music Network.
